A Little About Me
I started teaching Elementary Art at AASD in 1991. I was first assigned to Irving Elementary in 1996. At this time the building was being expanded and renovated. The following year, The McAuliffe Heights Program at Irving began. I have been assigned to the building on 2 separate occasions, from 1996-2001, and 2007-present. I travel to various elementary schools within the district to teach art to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. At some point over the years, I have taught at all the AASD elementary schools. I currently teach at Juniata, Juniata Gap, Penn-Lincoln, and the McAuliffe Heights Program at Irving. I see the students for art class for 30 minutes every 10 school days.
I am a 1985 graduate of the Hollidaysburg Area School District. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education K-12 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1989, and a Master's of Education degree from Saint Francis University in 1995. I also hold the elected position of Treasurer for the Altoona Area Education Association since 2012.
